Life Insurance in Piedmont, OK
If you're looking for life insurance in Piedmont, OK, this page covers the kinds I write: term life, final expense, whole life, and indexed universal life (IUL). I'm Sung Kang, a licensed insurance agent with HealthMarkets Insurance - The Kang Agency.
If you want IUL, we'll talk about IUL as IUL — what it is, what it isn't, and that I don't guarantee returns or treat it as an investment. If you want whole life, we'll talk about guarantees, dividends when declared, cash value timing, and loans — not as a stock substitute.
I prefer to meet in person. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm. Closed on federal holidays. Call (405) 850-1900 to set a face-to-face appointment.

This page is for people in Piedmont who want a licensed agent to talk through term life, a smaller final expense policy, whole life, or indexed universal life.
You might want term while the kids are young or a mortgage is still on the books. You might want a smaller final expense policy for funeral costs and related bills. You might want permanent coverage with cash value. You might have been pointed at IUL or whole life and want it explained without a seminar.
What to bring / what you'll talk through
Helpful to have when you call:
- Who the policy would cover, and date of birth
- Who you'd name (and a backup, if you have one)
- Why you want the policy — income replacement, a final bill, something else
- A coverage amount you're thinking about, even if it's rough
- How long you think you'd need the coverage, if this is term
- Health history you're already comfortable sharing
- Other life insurance you already have
We'll talk through those points before I ask you to apply. Underwriting is the carrier's decision. I can tell you what a product is built to do. I cannot promise approval, and I cannot lock a price until the carrier has what it needs.
Types of life insurance I write
Term life insurance
Coverage for a set number of years. You pay a premium; if you die during the term, the policy is designed to pay a death benefit to the person you named. When the term ends, the coverage ends unless you and the carrier have another arrangement.
Final expense insurance
A smaller policy meant to help with funeral costs and related bills — a defined amount, not a large income-replacement number. Eligibility and price still depend on the carrier and your application.
Whole life insurance
Permanent coverage I write. Participating whole life is built around a death benefit, guaranteed cash-value growth (as defined in the contract), and dividends when the carrier declares them — dividends are not guaranteed. Early cash value is often weak. Loans, if unpaid, reduce the death benefit. It is a capital / safe-sleeve design when structured that way, not a stock substitute, and not something I sell as an "investment."
Indexed universal life (IUL)
A type of universal life I write. The death benefit is the reason to look at it. Some IUL policies also have a cash-value feature credited from a formula tied to a market index, with limits set by the carrier. That is not a guaranteed return. It is not an investment I sell. Whole life and IUL are different permanent designs — we will not blur them.
Why call a local licensed agent instead of a form
Online life-insurance forms take a date of birth and a dollar amount and return a monthly number. They will not tell you whether term, final expense, whole life, or IUL is even the category you need, and they will not sit with you when the application asks a health question you didn't expect.
You call (405) 850-1900. You talk to Sung Kang at HealthMarkets Insurance - The Kang Agency. We name the product and what it does not do, then decide whether it's worth an application. I can look at more than one company's products in the lines I write. I will not list those companies here as exclusive.
